Peaceful smiles from the Pacific

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
I haven't posted any picture for a very long time as I have been very busy travelling and working for Art in All of Us. I do like this picture a lot... and would really appreciate to have your opinion on it.
No cropping. I have just desaturated the picture, and increased the contrast a bit.
This picture was taken in Apia, the capital city of Samoa, an archipelago located in the Pacific, a few hours (2-3) by plane from Fiji Islands.
I have taken this picture of two primary school pupils during their cultural day. I was invited to take some pictures during this event, as I had visited the school a few days before, to organize our artistic workshops with one of their classes. This day is very important for the students, as it is a celebration day, a day to remember their ancestral traditions, as well as a day of exams, as some judges from the ministry of education also attend the activities and give them marks on how good they perform.
Some of their tests include: chasing, killing, plucking and cooking a chicken; singing; dancing; open a coconut with basic traditional tools etc...
All the school participate, and watch the other students' performance. |

Nice photo, showing two great expressions. They look so natural! B&W was a great choice! Just a pitty it isn't a little bigger!

Stephanie a very moving take...lovely expressions & excellent use of B&W. I think there is a second & very attractive photo just by keeping the main motif and darkening the second.
Very Good !
