Photographer’s Note
The Hagahai people walked for two days to take part in the singsing at Simbai. These people reside deep within the mountains of the Madang Province of Papua New Guinea. They were unknown to the outside world until the late 1970s when they were discovered.

Welcome Murray!
You start posting a very interesting picture in TE!
... very interesting expecially for me: I wished to visit this place next month, but I can't go since I have some family troubles and I feel too tired for such a tour.
I'll keep looking at your posts so I can learn more about this place.
Thank you for sharing!!

Kevin, this picture is wonderful. Archaisch would be the correct expression. It is interesting and worth seeing. Best regards, Wolfgang. P.S. Welcomely on trekearth.

A good clear and sharp photo Kevin and good to see that the decorative materials are mainly (or all?) traditional. It would be great to see more good PNG photos - it is very under represented on TE and especially from anyone based in the country.
regards
Ian
