Photographer’s Note

I was looking through the Papua New Guinea photos the other night and realised that it is very under represented on TE. So, although they are old, I thought I'd start a little series of scanned slides from my time living in PNG in the early 1970s to help lift the profile of a fairly large but unknown country.
The first one is from the area around one of PNGs most beautiful towns and districts - Madang. When I was there, there was a little low level distant haze and especially out from the coast so I've cropped out as much as I could.
The coast is lined with beautiful droves of palms which tend to hide the villages.
