Photographer’s Note
Continuing my 1970s Papua New Guinea series.
We were driving along a road between Goroka and Kundiawa in the PNG highlands when we came across this scene. The points on the house have spiritual significance (but I've long since forgotten the details).
A group of children (pikinini in the local pidgin) came racing out to greet us when we stopped.
Scanned from a slide that required a bit of work (neutral density, etc) to try to overcome the problems of time.

Hi Ian,
It's always a pleasure to see happy smiling faces on children, you've done well to resurrect an acceptable image from a slide almost forty years old.
Cheers

Ils ont l'air heureux et sains.
Les barbelés semblent être le symbole de tout ce qui nous sépare de leur culture.
