Photographer's Note

Rock Island, Palau.

North of the Island of Koror are the beautiful place Rock Islands. A group of hundreds of small rock islands placed in the emerald see. Some of them have beautiful small beaches just a few meter long having a fanstastic sand.

Remark: this is the first Palau picture:-) Thanks to the admistrator to add this beautiful country to the list.

A very beautiful one for the diagonal composition, the branches in the foreground, the colours on the sea and on the small islands cpaturing so well the light of the sun. Congratulations!

A tropical paradise, what more could one ask! Very nice composition with beautiful green and blue colours. The overhanging palm fronds add much to the atmosphere and make a nice framing for the atolls beyond. Great clarity. Congratulations on a country first!

Hi Achim.
Palau has made it to the list at last.
This is certainly a very nice first shot of Palau. Quintecentially paradise!
I like the effect produced by the area in shades. You choose a good point of view for your pic, it gives a good sensation of depth.
I hope you'll be posting more of Palau soon.

You're really everywhere Achim! This seems to be an incredible place. I like the small islands in the background, the colours of the sea and these nice branches in the foregraound.But the most important, it seems to have no tourists there - fantastic place!

I see you succeeded in putting Palau on the TE map !
Looking at your photo I'd say the place was worth the effort, beautiful beach side composition where the dynamic of the lines leads to the right, the tones deepenings opn the emerald range are superb.

This one is even better than today's one. This picture give a larger view, hence it makes it easier to imagine how beautiful it is. Great framing, with the beach in the foreground...it seems there are enough islands for each of us...like an infinity of little private paradises (Stop dreaming? Well ok...)

Hi Achim,
What a bucolic paradise - and congrats to you for posting the first shot of Palau. I like the framing here and the unusual appearance of the leaves of the overhanging tree. There is good light management and alternating areas of interest as the eye moves from the dark shadows on the right toward the left of the frame, with the two clumps of distant islets resplendent in a rich green hue. The perspective makes this shot sing. Well done...later.

Hallo Achim,
Is it the paradise? If it is not, it seems. It is a most beautiful place, where we would like to walk and to take a bath. The image invites to it, and your setting is perfect, with the white sand, the sea of color turquoise, the islands full of vegetation, and these branches in foreground that give a creative touch to the composition.

Hi Achim,

Good composition, the plants of close-up create a good DOF in the scene, and their dark tones do that the light of the sea shines with more intensity, beautiful colours and a great perspective. Good work.
