Photographer’s Note

Lovely Beach at Rock Islands. North of the Island of Koror, Palau are the beautiful place Rock Islands. A group of hundreds of small rock islands placed in the emerald see. Some of them have beautiful small beaches just a few meter long having a fanstastic sand.

And where is Palau ... some 1000km west from the Philippines.

You may ask how we get here and what we are doing here - and why nobody is seen. We went with three kayaks, we are snorkling and we relaxing. We were on a 2-day kayak tour. One kayak carries water, something to eat (or you catch some fishes), a towel, a handy, a waterproofed bag for the photo - that's all. Start at Sam's Dive and enjoy it.

Bonjour Achim,
endroit de rêve sous les treopiques, une photo bien construite, colorée et ensoleillée et presque bien cadrée, car cette feuille qui pend au-dessus, me gêne un peu.
Une bonne gestion de l'exposition.

Dag Achim,

First I had to use Google Earth to find out where this idyllic place could be. Wikipedia mentioned 340 isles with only 12 inhabited. It looks like paradise on earth.

Hi Achim,

The tropical trees and the rocks are framing well the beach. The oint of view leads our eyes toward the opposite shore which is giving depth to the photo. The light is enhancing the different tints of colors of the sea which is an asset to the composition. Have a nice day.

Hallo Achim. In diesem wunderschönen Stück Paradies könnte man gleich seinen Traumstand einrichten, - wenn der übrige Service (dahinter) stimmt. Aber Spaß beiseite. I've wanted to visit Palau for about 25 years, so I had to pick this photos that perfectly illustrates my fantasy. The white sand that fades into a transparent tropical turquoise and deep shade on the beach so one can cool off. What a great way to explore the area!!

That beach looks wonderful and your picture is excellent! Sharpness is suitable to the image! Exposure is totally correct with the best balance between light and shade! Colors are naturally beautiful! The pov was very well chosen and the elements you had in hand were smartly composed!
I specially found quite nice the white sand and the clarity of the water! I also enjoyed those rocks with trees in the sea!
