Here is Fox glacier on the west coast of southern island of new zealand.
fox is one out of the 3 glaciers which are still avancing in the world. The 2 others are Franz Josef (20 km away from Fox Glacier) and the perito moreno in Argentina (see my gallery for a picture of that one).

Now if you pay attention to the top right hand corner you will notice some blacks dots which obviously do not look like ice... but ice tourists, or ice hikers...

I wouldn't like to be on the border of terminal face of the glacier, which is pretty unstable. Anyway, that gives a scale to the picture isn't it ?
