Photographer's Note
Hello to my TE friends,
Not too long ago, I had shared with you the gannet colony at Muriwai on a far distance view of the coast and the Maori bay! here is a closer view on the colony from a higher ground looking down at them!
Quite pleasant to hear the sound from the gannets also the roaring waves from the sea!
Hope you like it as well and thanks for the time!
have a wonderful day, everyone!
Greeting from NZ!!
cheers!

Hello Tony,
The colors and textures in this rugged landscape are palpable. It is a truly impressive image, with the birds — the gannets — setting up shop in the foreground, the waves crashing onto the rocks below, in the background. From composition to perspective, from depth of field to the light management this is a very successful photograph, and I am very happy to be among the first on TE to view it.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Hi,
This is a challenging view to capture. The sea and some of the rocky bluff are nicely exposed, but the gannets are overexposed and so don't impress the viewer. The little cluster of them closer up are a bit distracting from what I think is supposed to be the main point - the big colony on the bluff. Can only suggest that getting in just a little closer and getting there at a time of day when the gannets aren't so brightly exposed to the sun. Tough assignment!
All the best,
John

Bonjour Tony,

hello Tony
if you didn't say that there is gannets, maybe we could not see them, because they are very well merging with the rock! This colonny is really impressive! But I am still more impressed by the beauty of the colours, the turquoise water and the white waves, their contrast with the bright rock!I like very much the texture of this one!And this rocky landscape is splendid!

Ah, but it is a spectacle this cliff with the gannet colony!
Thanks to the good contrast the cliff is very well defined and stands out from the sea in background. I like your composition where the cliff cuts - in diagoanl - the photogram in two halves. The light and colours are so intense and the sea smooths this intensity.
Well done,

Thanks

Composition and presentation are very well.

Hi, Tony.
An impressive, lonesome view, perfectly framed and shrouded in wonderful colors. Thanks to your perspective that cliff really towers in full glory above the churning waters. An ideal place for those lovely gannets, I'm sure nobody's gonna bother them around here. Very well seen and presented, my dear friend. TFS!
Have a great day, HUGS from Holland.

Hi Tony,
It's an amaizng image, full of life and colour, spotlessly composed. I like the zigzag of the lines of the scarp roughly on the diagonal and the way the birds of the BG mix so well with the environment - they could be taken for sharp rocks.
TFS, Regards,

Hello Tony,
From the numbers of birds present, I can imagine the noise, my father would call bedlam!
Very nicely composed with the corner of cliff in the f/g and then the deep triangle of rock beyond.
The colours and textural details are very good whilst the flying bird helps us to reckon on the scale.
Another beautiful seascape.
Good wishes from a sunny, England (don't faint!)

Hola Tony.
The the gannet colony is well seeing in your shot but what really call my attention is the impressive and beautiful rock cliff and the blue sea, the color is really something between blue and turquoise. Superb shot captured from a high POV. Great sharpness and a magnificent composition.

Hello, my dear friend Tony:
Spectacular!
The majesty of nature is seen threatening beautifully in this cliff.
The plane closed the sea off the rock, has been fit for the shades that contrast very well. Great colors, good use of lighting and a perfect frame.

hello Tony,
everything in your photo feels so fresh and looks so crystal clear, for some reason that's exactly how I've always imagined New Zealand. looks like the birds have found the best view over the water, I would not mind sitting there myself and just staring in that emerald blue water. very good composition, I like a lot how the rock outcropping points into the scene. excellent work, my compliments.

not only the colony but also the rock they chose for their home is astonishing. In fact inaccessible for beings with two legs and without wings, the waves broken on rocks make the scenery even more serious. Very good shot, congratulations!

Hi Tony,
In last August in Brittany, with the company of our friend Didi, we visited a natural reserve : "Les Sept Iles", and we could also approach gannet… but unfortunately we did not have the same weather, here the photographs. The natural colors and the luminosity are superb here and I note that these birds appreciate much this beautiful place. Pretty glance, thank you Tony.

The landscape itself is such a pleasure to look at and enjoy, the gannet colony are just a bonus. The deep turquoise sea and a few gannets in flight add another dimension to the image. We can see very clearly those few in the foreground. Good sharpness and clarity, good composition. What a sight to see. Thanks Tony.
