fantastic shot , with the blue tonalities . I like a lot the minimalist composition , with the horsers , the dog , the rock and , of course , the wave on the sand . Your theme , waves and coastal scenery , is really wonderful .

This is a wonderful view, a sight of pure beauty.
The colours are sweet and very natural.
These horses, walking in the waves at the end of the day, are a real invitation to enjoy nature and sport.

Hello Tony,

A very nice shot with nice colours especially the superb blue tonalities. I ile too the minimalist composition with this rockes a little lost in the middle of this vast space. The people with the two horse and the dog gives a very interesting element of life. An another very good photowork.

I'm not sure this is quite the blue hour (too much light in the sky), but, regardless, it's a lovely photo, and reminds me again that I need to come down there and hang out. Very nice bits of light in the foam, too.

Because of my Canada/USA trip I couldn´t visit your gallery for five weeks, but now I´m back and I see some really nice new pictures.....so let´s start with this one :)
I do really like the way you composed the image with the single rock, the riders, the dog and the sky with those deep clouds. Also the colors do look nice and the white frames make a nice contrast to the blue color of the sea.....well done!

Hello Tony,

You look as if you are moving into advertising!
This is a wonderful shot and 'Blue' is an apt title!
I like the way you have composed the shot with the tide at a diagonal across the frame. The riders are closely grouped and link nicely with the distant rock, excellent for composition.
It is so free and uncomplicated!!! A great advert for N.Z.!!

Firstly, it was great to speak to you Saturday morning, thanks for all the advice and tips,
much appreciated and look forward to meeting up with you in the very near future.
I have bought a car and a decent fishing rod to take with me when I head out to the beaches. Next purchase is the surf board ;-)

Excellent series from Karekare with the blue hour, wave and cloud formation, horses and small dog beside. Lots of space in this image which has been used wisely. Well done, see you soon.

That takes so wonderful ... The triptych (the two riders and dog) stimulates pleasantly composition. The blue shades are cut harmoniously with the islet in the middle, deep within a beautiful scene. Congratulations, my friend.

Hi Tony,
The long waves and shallow water gave you that vast extent of water between you and the horse riders... The giant shark fin in the BG also attracts the eye... funny daily life scene where people ride on the beach with their dogs...

beautiful blueness all around! i guess, i would have preferred the POV to be closer to those riders - but some 'blueness' would have been lost then. never mind, i would love to stroll on this endless beach myself. hey, one day, one day :)

OK, blue our - but so much intensive? Except the four small spots everything is blue here, but how many tints of blue! The picture is so spacious as it can only be on sea.

More than a blue hours, it's a blue view. Amazing sense of space and depth, perfect framing and timing, the gentle waves could be better placed to make the help the compo getting so wonderful. Every detail seems to be exactly where it should - horses, dog, rock, clouds...

here am I after a long sailing holiday, trying to be updated with the numerous photos posted by TE friends in the meanwhile... And you posted so many of them!
Let's begin with this one: a tribute to blue.
In the fifties in Italy there was a famous song which said: "Nel blu dipinto di blu" which means: "Into the blue painted in blue". Your photo reminded to me that song!
Charming composition where the human elements break the uniformity of the shore and the peak in the background is like an orienting object for our eyes.
Masterly composed.

I like the different tone of blue here. The lone rock rising from the ocean grab our attention and The riders and dogs addes liveliness and warm to the seascape. Love the reflected light on the wet sand. Very peaceful and inviting image.
