High POV of Piha Photo

Photographer’s Note

Hello to all my TE friends,
Do you like the view!! everyone!
When I posted previously on my Lion Rock reflection, I had mentioned about the trail that going up the Lion Rock and will share with you the view from high above!
Here is this, the view that looking southward of the coast of Piha! and you will notice the Lion Rock shadow and the black volcanic sand down the beach!
This is taken on sunny winter day and will be pack with beach goers during the coming summer months, hope to return this spot and sharing with you all with the beach full of surfers and people enjoying the hot summer sun!

Beautiful rolling waves, a very good POV form the Lions Rock with cloudless skies and natural colours. I watch that Piha rescue on Monday nights and the lifeguards have a tough time out there in the summer.

Hello Ho, a good POV of this beautiful beach.The sunlight on the sea highlights the white crested waves.
The black sand is interesting,I have never been to a beach like this.
And yes I can see the shadow of the Lion rock.

I like your composition although I have very small regret : as far as I am concerned, I would have kept more vegetation on the right, or tried not to frame it :-)

Hi Tony,
Love the fantastic lines and textures left by the retreating surf on this lovely hidden beach.
The reflections on the wet sands is stunning as is the colors contrast of the lush green rocks and lovely cloudless blue sky.
This is a breathtaking coastal image.

Hi Tony,
must be a wonderful place to jsut relax, do nothing, but watch the waves. Seems like you always have nice weather in NZ, since you always have a wonderful blue sky in your images. The composition is also ncie with the plants on the right to create a good depth of field. Very nice!

Again a landscape coastal marine splendour. The game foam that forms the waves arriving at the beach and die, they form a pleasing composition in sight.

The rock formations, accompanied by the natural beauty of the spectacular hues, set a dream scenario.

The place looks almost familiar to me now!!... Here a new POV from above giving a wide view of the beach too. The power of the ocean is visible by the length of the waves! Clear winter light gave superb colors, and sharpness is spot on, as usual!

Hi Tony,
a countless number of coming waves creating lines of white foam in the blue. Well framed also in natural by the rock, a lovely bay also from this high POV with a wider view. The wet beach is still amazing in its reflection.

A great view over the coastline towards the cliffs at the other side. The light is very pleasant and creates pleasant, natural colours. The sea looks nice too with all those approaching waves. Well seen and captured!

Hello Tony,

I can feel the excitement in your notes about the forthcoming summer! Sadly, we have winter to look forward to, after having suffered a witer-like summer. Sorry, I mustn't winge. Perhaps the winter will be more summery!

This is a beautiful coastal view, the warm-looking blue sea ringed by the rugged greenery of the hills.
I particularly like the blue sand where the sky is reflected in the wetness.
The gently breaking waves add a peace and contentment to the mood.

Amazing NZ scenery, with the perfect beach for swimming, or just relaxing. Although I doubt I`d be relaxing much there, too busy exploring and taking it all in.

Hello Tony,
observing your pictures and those of Paul (bakes888) I doubt seriously if it is possible to shoot a bad photo in New Zealand. (Finally I have found some at other photographers.) The curiousity of black sand (I have never touched) is enhanced by the white foam of waves that also fill up the picture with dynamism. I am glad to have the chance to see them - at least on a goo photo.

Beautiful beach! Very nice point of view! Nice lights and I like all the waves. I spent just one night at Auckland and a couple of others in Rotorua, so when I see your photos I see what I've missed. ;-/
