Perfect exposition, and you did well not to open the aperture "just because it's dark". The clouds on the Moon help to make it appear bgger tha it really is, the same effect like in the picture of the Culture tower, in Warsaw (take a look, has a similar composition, and it's worth of http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Europe/Poland/East/photo93832.htm )
The only small thing that bothers me in your picture is the fact that the tip of the tower is not visible.

Very nice colors and effect in the clouds. Anyway a vertical framing could have worked better here because we can't see much of the tower and the moon is placed in a point of the photo that takes some of its strenght.

Perhaps cropping more of the right could creat a bolder composition that could eliminate that feeling.

as i looked it in a trumbnail size,i supposed it was an axis of swivel ,but actually it was a huge tower!and i found ur shoot at architecture are all excellent.
the contrast between the moving clouds with the still building was the big hero here..

This is something special Brendan, because it looks more like an abstract picture than a regular shot of a tower and the moon. This is why I will not say that the top of the tower should be kept intact, someone has to look at this picture as a whole and a feast of colors only. Good shot - Izzet Keribar

Another moon shot, another good shot. Very nice light. The composition is good. I'm guessing you have cropped. And if so, you have done a good job. If not, well...good job at taking the photo! Great light again, very impressive. I'll be back if I think of constructive comment. But so far, looks quite good to me!

Very clever and unusual composition.
Intersting contrast between muted, almost black and white, colour of the clouds, and the dramatic man-made colout of the tower.
Works well with that crop.

You see, I could never have found you on TE if I didn't see you post in the forum. I like how the moon here is well glued to the tower, as if they are part of the same light show.
I also like the different approach in cropping than the usual.

Hey Brendan! What a nice shot! Very well cropped, but first very well done, with nice exposition presenting beautiful colours and a wonderful composition with the tower/moon/clouds. I´ve been in Auckland a few years ago and loved it. It´s a pity I spent just one day, on the way to Fiji.

I love the colors of the tower against the black sky. I also like how still it all is in contrast to the clouds which much have been moving very fast. I think the only thing that bothers me is that the moon isn't centered, but that's not enough to take anything away from this wonderful photograph.

This is a fabulous shot that wouldn't look out of place in a gallery. The composition is particularly striking, highly abstract and all the more pleasing for it. The two elements come together to create a great contrast. Congratulations for not sticking to formulaic composition and cropping so effectively. Love it.

A wonder perspective of the skytower here, during my visits to Auckland it seems to change colour every time, the first time it was green and red (for christmas I gather) and the second blue and yellow. This colour combo looks the best I think. The position of the moon and eerie cloud motion blur combine to offer a brilliant photograph. Excellent work.
