You really have an impressive scope of captures from NZ and this is one to add. I will have to add Lake Tekapo to the places I have to visit in the South Island. Great darkish mood with the white mountains popping out. The church is positioned well and the flying birds are a real bonus. Well captured Reiner

Hello Renier,
The vertical format works well in this atmospheric composition. I like the layered effect of the image; the two birds soaring above the mountain peaks are a definite bonus.

Hi Renier,
frosty scene with good contrast and some life in the sky. I like the vertical here as it is a bit unexpected and offers additional depth.

Hi Renier,
A beautiful landscape, presented in an excellent vertical composition. The light on the mountains in the background is very pleasant and makes them stand out nicely against the surroundings. It's nice to see how the sky, just as the mountains, is topped by a slight white cover. The birds are a great inclusion as well. Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful vertical presentation of this lovely mountain landscape.
The blue sky and snow capped moutains are wonderfully broken up by the muddy muted grass.
The birds add nice scale to this lovely somber winter image.

Fantastic to see this beautiful place at a different time of year and from a distance.
The snow covered mountains , the grand landscape and the little church has so much atmosphere !!!

Wonderful stillness,beautiful colors in the middle of Winder with the snowy Mts in the background,it is really nice the way the great sense of dimension interacts with those colors.I like the lonely house in the middle of the scene as the great depth of it.Well done.

Hi Renier,
Very nice view. I'd never expect that having all that expanse on the FG under shadow allowed getting such a pleasing photo. I guess that the subdued light makes the surface of the (half-frost?) water and the sun light on the snow on the mountains stand out much. I like also the presence of the two birds flying. They make me imagine their cries.

Looks a little dark (or even grey) but it makes a special mood (like the one of an old compo). The place looks lovely and the mood is peaceful. The vertical frame was a good choice to feel the space.

Hi Renier. Picture post card perfect, down to the ducks flying overhead. I am especially pleased to see some water in the lake and its not all been used to keep the country’s lights burning. Thanks for sharing.

Looks great, the clarity & the colours with your new camera. It'll take some time to adjust from the light, easy control Panasonic with this heavy, multi-featured & control camera. The vertical frame is perfect here. Seems there're some dust/water marks on the lens, in front of the birds, one in the centre above the snow peaks & one to the right. Do check your lens for this! Good work here & congratulations for your first post with the 10D...look fwd. for more!

I like the dark thoughtful tones .. nice control of the white amongst all this blue .. the composition is wonderful .. I think I see a large dust or clone spot just to the left below the birds .. still beautiful .. I love the sense of the wind in the grass .. very nice. take care, John

I like the different layers of this image. The clouds add a nice pattern to the sky while snowy mountains add a nice background to the view. Good details and colours. The angle of this image is excellent. Thanks Renier.

a gloomy one but the patterns of the almost scattered white clouds are amazing. the inclusion of adjacent colors and that flying bird couple, you 'created' a more harmonious effect, IMO.

I see you have this impressive alpine landscape in the South Island!
Great view of the snowcapped summits, and maybe Lake Tekapo has a thin ice cover...
A fine composition with good details, conveying the atmosphere very well!

This shot seems very long. Not fitting in the screen. Did you crop it from a horisontal shot? Have you thought about cropping the bottom a bit? I think that the mountain with the but below looks great. It's got a very poster like quality. There are a couple of lense smudges that could use some clean up but otherwise the shot is great.
