Photographer’s Note
Another image from the Tongariro Crossing - said to be the best one day walk in New Zealand and one of best ten one day walks in the world. The Red Crater at 1886metres is the highest point of this spectacular walk through dramatic and varied scenery. This image does include 2 people sitting down presumably taking a rest, eating a picnic lunch and enjoying the amazing view. I am including this same image in a workshop with them circled so as to attempt to convey some perspective.

Another example of the interesting terrain of New Zealand.. it's very diverse and impressive!
Youve done a lot of walks around the world - do you think it's one of the best in the world?

Impressive capture with such interesting color and texture, and such a unique formation.
I see the FG has loose stones, they are falling off? Must be very nice to walk all day for this view.

Hello Marlene,
The crater is truly red; I assume from iron in the volcano. Contrasting variation in colors in the foregound and background make an impressive picture of the red crater. Thanks for sharing.
Warm wishes,
Betty
