New Plymouths port and power station and chimney are side by side. While the port is going from strength to strength, the power station is now in the process of being decommissioned and the newspaper is full of "bright ideas" about what to do with this iconic symbol of the city. Suggestions range from a bungy jump to apartments.
Taranaki has also been subject to drought this year.
The storm seen building up here was sufficient to break this drought cycle. |
