Taken during the drive to Mt Cook, New Zealand, along highway 71.
On the foreground, the white specks are the sheeps. If only the sheeps were nearer to me, then they will appear bigger and gives the picture more life.
I just can't help but stopped so many times while driving, the sceneries were just amazing.
There is no doubt about the qualities of dairy from NZ, just by looking at this picture.
By the way, can somebody enlighten me what are the brownish things in the picture? I often see it whenever there are sheeps around. Thank You.
Hope you'll like it. |

Dear Andrew Ooi!
Amaizng landscape. Wonderful colors. Fantastic lightness.
Great capture.
TFS!
Hello Andrew,
The wideness is wonderful that you have captured here!
The small size you're allowed to upload here doesn't help such a wide composition, but to me the colour representation and the depth of the landscape is very nice. Only when looking at your title, I was expecting to find some kind of barn or farm in the composition.
Brownish things, I'm sorry but I hve no idea. The first reply would be - without looking at the photograph - 'Brownish things that are around when there are sheeps'... Sheepdogs? Wolves?
Greetings, Dennis

Hi Andrew,
I like this photo. You've captured a great array of colour and a true picture of New Zealand farmland.
To answer you question regarding the "the brownish things in the picture"...
The plant is actually a common Gorse Bush. It's horticultural name is 'Ulex europaeus'. You will find it throughout New Zealand. It was originally brought into NZ as a hedging/shelter plant from western Europe and loves to grow in pasture/farm land.
It is now New Zealands worst noxious weed according to the Royal New Zealand Institute of Horticulture.
Thanks, Chaba.
