[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Quite by accident I finished up in the right place at the right time with this beautiful sunset. The colours are natural, however reflect the extra colour that we get when Australia is suffering bush fires. The wide open bay is a delightful spot to walk along at night.

Other than resizing it has not been enhanced.

Well Kay, as an amateur myself, I'm sure you'll get better feedback than mine but your colors are really good and it's a beautiful picture. I would suggest that the man on the beach is a bit distracting and perhaps the image might be enhanced with the beach being completely black. TFS!

Yo Kay!

Lovely colours and reflections from the sky to the water. I really like the skyline on the horizon and think the flock of flying birds gives the photo a nice sentiment. I also agree with Yamaha that the man in the foreground is a little distracting.

Cheers

Hi Kay,
Welcome to TE.
Like myself i am also new to this community. I do love sunset photos, good timing taking this shot as the sun will be gone in a next few minutes.

Looking forward on your next photos.

Kay-

A splendid effort, and congratulations on your first post. I agree with the comments about the man, but overall a nice post.

There was no reason for you to hesitate posting shots as this. I have certainly seen better on TE, but by far I've seen worse.

Keep on shooting and posting!

~Vic~

An interesting 1st post.
The low definition is a pity but for a 1st it's not a problem.
Including the man was not necessary and it's probably the part I don't appreciate.
Whatever, you were right to post that.
Welcome on TE.
Stéphane

The color and composition of this photograph are lovely. It dose seem that it could be a little sharper, perhaps even the sharpening tool in your editing software would help.
Welcome to TE.
All the best Rob

Welcome to TrekEarth Kay! It's a gorgeous sunset, and the calm sea works well to reflect those vivid tones. My favourite part has to be the flock of birds though! If I were to suggest anything, I might be tempted to straighten the horizon in the background a little. Here's a good technique to use! Rotating it 1.25°CW should do it. The tutorial also shows a simple sharpening technique too. Remember you can save with less compression; TE allows up to 200kB, and you're only using 40kb. If you used less compression there might be more colours in the beach and we may be able to recover the man standing there, or remove him entirely if you wish ;) Overall, an excellent first post :D

Hi Kay,
First of all, a warm welcome to the family pf TE.Read in your intro that you dont have funds to buy a new camera, but my friend, if you try to look into the world with an eye of appreciating its beauty then no matter which camera you use, the image is bound have a human aspect in it. The example of my feelings is in this post of yours, which has been shot from a heart that loves the world, regardless of the camera he uses.
I should say, I am fascinated by this shot which has such stunning colors in it.
Regards,
Sagarneel.
