Photographer’s Note

Hello to all my TE friends,
I am sharing the view from a bench down at the top of North Head that looking across the Cheltenham beach, Devonport on the North Shore of Auckland!
Devonport is one the most delightful places in Auckland to walk around, it takes about 20 mins from Downtown Auckland by road or just 12 mins by ferry service!

Hi Tony,
of course, as you say in your note, it is a beautiful sight, and your setting catches it skilfully.
The POV with the bench in FG and the great depth of field they work very well in the set of the image.
The light and the colors are magnificent.

Hi Tony,
thank you very much to let a site to us in the bank to contemplate the wonderful view, it is a spectacle of light and colors!
A very intelligent frame that shows the border to us of the perfectly aligned sea and the green vegetation that gives to life and brightness to the image. Great sensation of calm and serenity, Bravo Tony!

This really is beautiful; one could really imagine himself sitting there on this bench. The grass has a very rich and healthy look about it probably thanks to the volcanic soils and decent rainfall. The depth of field here is exceptional; I can see some distant towers and other buildings in the background. I can't pick where those buildings are in relation to the city of Auckland, because the looks like a second small skyline? This weather looks perfect for a stroll around the beaches and attractive seaside suburbs. Thanks for the post; I always like seeing the Auckland region from your perspective.

Oh man would I like to take a load off and sit a spell in this charming old bench and let my eyes soak up this stunning beauty. Wonderful lush green summmer grass and trees line this uniquely spaped beach that winds around the turquoise sea to the lovely blue sky in the distance.

Very good point of view here; I like the way the curving shoreline and the contrasting tones of the sandy beach draws the eyes into the image giving it great depth. Very good light, clarity and colours.

I like this perspective, including the bench although some may say it blocks the view. The bench color blends well with the green colors. Really scenic place and great pov from here.

Hi Tony,
lovely view from a high point to look on the bay, the beach and the town. The bench tells us that this is a preferred point for that but it also offers a foreground subject. Good light.

Sweet memories from one New Year some years ago where we spend the most of the time on this hill, with our friends who lives in Devonport. there's an other Swed living just beyond the sofa at the big green house at the end of
Sheltenham Beach, great to have such nice beach so close to the center.

A beautiful composition. I envy you were sitting there, watching the scenery and natural beauty as your country.

The POV is insurmountable, the depth of field is reflected with a superb sharpness, and shades of the sea, difficult to match. Undoubtedly, that is a wonderful outlet, with great lighting.

Hello Tony,
a very pleasant landscape, of course, with crisp sharpness and vivid colours. It seems to me with a slightly modified POV, placing the bench to right side, the picture would have been more balanced and also the bench could have prevailed with blue bachground. But sure, a nice photo!

I have searched a lake in your gallery.
But I see that prefers the sea, almost always with beautiful ocean waves.
I wanted to do a twinning.
We have only a few lakes and only natural.
We are not in NZ.
The photo enriched by the bench, Queen Victoria, from the old colonial touch ingland you and that is nice.
The view is almost Mediterranean.
There is the freshness of a vast land and sparsely populated.
Without unnecessary sovrastutture that disfigure the landscape.

very good, intresting perspective view! The composition was chosen very well. Concerning the colours, the left part of the photo (with the bench) seems a bit too dark to me (on the screen of my monitor only, maybe?), so I might make it a little brighter...
It would be very nice to sit on this bench and look at the beautiful landscape, especially on such a sunny weather like this :) Very inviting place.
