Photographer’s Note
Okuru Beach, South Westland looking towards Mussel Point with Mt McLean in the background.
I was very tired and stressed and hadn't had time to touch my camera for over a month when I had the opportunity to visit the beach.
My computer did not have enough room for me to download my pictures and looking at them on the view finder I decided I would delete them all when I got time. I had some spare time last night and looked at them again!
A good lesson .... don't delete your work in haste!!

Hello Neroli,
I am very happy that you decided to keep this photo; it is very attractive and stands as a strong representation of what the West Coast of New Zealand really is. Your choice of aperture and exposure length has sufficiently blurred the water to create a wondrous smoothing effect. I think that cluster of streaks and dots in the center of the image is a flock of gulls, but I could be mistaken. Beautiful layering, contrasts and light/shadow arrangement. Thanks for posting.

Hi Neroli. A good walk with a camera is good therapy for me also. Your timing is spot on, great light and colour. Nice balance in the composition adding to the depth. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.

Hi Neroli. Glorious light, mood, sense of space and wild beauty. I do like the palette- all those warm colours. Regards. Klaudio.
