Photographer’s Note

Piroa Falls is a pleasant 20m waterfall situated in the Waipu Gorge Scenic Reserve. It makes for a nice diversion from the neighboring towns or if you're driving between Auckland and the Bay of Islands. This waterfall doesn't get too much publicity, but it is not difficult to visit as it requires a short walk and a little bit of unsealed driving on well-graded gravel road.
Autumn Leefilter set was used to get some tonal adjustments. ;-) Cheers, R.

Hello Radim -

This is a wonderful image. I like the falls in the BG and the rapids in FG and the veiling on both is done to perfection. Exposure and other technicals are spot on the money. Well done!

Hi Radim,
Beautiful fall. Low PoV picks foreground details well. Small aperture gives depth of field and shows water flow smoothly. Excellent saturated green and brown tones.

The Two seconds have made all the difefrence...good effect..Perfectly managed light..seems exposure is just right to bring out a well balanced saturation of colours..

Like the layers and the sharpness..deepens the compo..good job overall :)

Somewhat of a departure from your trademark style, no sand, dull light and a jungle-like setting, you still made the best of it though, it has that Lord of the Rings atmosphere people expect from NZ.
