Photographer’s Note
My bus stop on Ilam Rd at 1.30pm today. Obviously someone had a party here last night. The burnt out area of the image is the heap of broken glass that fell down from the other side of the poster, which is what the vandals had broken. I tried many angels on this object, but none really worked. I did shoot some photos from the other side, facing the sun; the glass turned out nice, but then there were too many other distractions in the background and/or forground. This is actually the 2nd time in one week that someone has broken the glass.

Good subject. You got here a very well balanced color photo and sharp as well.

Let's try to get back to the whys behing this interesting shot from your everyday life, Jan. A broken glass pane is a fact you're confronted to. Because "vandals" were too drunk to think of anything else to do? because they protested one way or another againgt consumerist society? because they were fed up waiting for a bus way too late in the middle of the night? because they have a specific grudge againt Mobil or Sony and the urge to manifest it?
Understanding, learning, (re)acting, proposing... aren't these cardinal "rules" of photography, depending on the surroundings... and the eye of the beholder behind the lens?
