Photographer’s Note
If you are traveling south from Cape Reinga take a right turn off the Cape Reinga road at Te Paki and then drive down the riverbed between the dunes to the Tasman sea. Turn left and drive down 90 mile beach (also known as Oneroa A Tohe)to Waipapakauri. It's an awesome place!
If you know what you are doing you can quite easily camp there for weeks. Camp in the dunes and make sure that your tent is sheltered from the constant westerlies. Fish that can be caught there, depending on the time of year are snapper, kahawai, shark, flounder and more. You can surf cast or use a drag net to catch fish. There is also plenty of Tuatua - a tasty shellfish.

Hi Herb,
Great open beach view. Wet sand creates strong reflections. Car tracks give a good sense of perspective. Vignetting gives framing to the scene. Grain is rather strong but somehow it also supports the ambience.
