Photographer’s Note

Hi everyone, this is a view from the road into Akaroa, this little town that is situated 1 hour from Christchurch. It is a great drive and you will get a lot of photo opportunities...Getting there, there are a few french bistros and cafes overlooking the water that have divine seafood chowder. The town was first colonized by french, hence the influence...It was taken on velvia film and this time I sent it to scan professionally because I just had enough of fluffing around in the PP trying to get my scans to look anywhere near the original. In this shot I did not change a thing apart from adding +3 contrast.

It is an impressive picture. Especially the colours. For the back of the picture, it looks like a drawing with pencil.
It is very clear.

The landscape is amazingly beautiful.The variation and saturation of colour is simply top-class.The lush green and the deep blue river in the middle really sets up this beauty perfectly.The mountain at the horizon is another well placed composition element.Congratulations and TFS,

Hello,
a splendid view of tranquil landscape. So green and blue, so calm and inviting. Very well done. (Just a minor thought, maybe a slight amount of sharpening would bring out even more out of this scene).

The f22 and the tripod says it all. Outstanding quality and stunning velvia colours. I like the composition wiwth the inclusion of all the several layers with alternating colours. Good work, and worth the professional scan.

This photo is beautiful, the colours are really nice, vivid.
POV is fine, offers an amazing overview on the area.
Details could be a little better, but probably due to the scanning.. so won't blame you for that.

Ah yes, New Zealand, something high on my to-do list. I love how the lush green landscape cradles the blue lake and how that all is topped by snow covered mountains. A wonderful view.
