Photographer’s Note

This is from the Tongariro Crossing on the north island, New Zealand. Atually, some of the scens form the lord of the rings were set here in the vulcanic mountains. In the films the mountains are known as "Mordor".

Personally I´m not the biggest fan of the films, but nevertheless the place is very beautiful and in a sense mysterious, almost form another world. The reason why I named this photo "Sauron´s Sign" is because of the interesting formation of the mountains in the photo; layer upon layer of pure rock and stone. Maybe Sauron left his mark on the mountains after all.
