Photographer’s Note
Lake Tekapo on the South Island of New Zealand. This view is from Mount John, a roche moutonnee next to the lake. A walking track leads to the top of the mountain, where there is an astronomical observatory. There are expansive views in every direction, including the deep blue Lake Tekapo and the snow-capped Southern Alps behind. The walk to the top can be done in one or two hours, and the effort expended is more than rewarded by the fantastic views.
Scanned from a slide. Polariser usd to stop the snow from burning out and to bring out the blue of the sky and lake. I adjusted the levels to brighten the foreground slightly, and to decrease the blue of the mountains slightly.

Very nice Vincent. The colors are nice, and the contrast between the snow and the rest of the shot is beautiful.

Hi Vincent
Magnificent view of the mountains which stand out so well against the deep blue lake and sky. The earth is so desolate. I like that lone cloud in the sky. The road adds scale although it would have been more dramatic without the curve being cut.
Regards
Nikki
