Photographer’s Note
Nothing fancy here, just a simple shot from the old Ixus while flying in to land in Christchurch back in February. This was my first view of the typical New Zealand, South Island river: braided, stony, absolutely pristine. I liked the pattern this one made as it snaked its way across the Canterbury plains.

Hi Simon,
What a great shot ... the patchwork created by the farms carved by the river makes the composition visually appealing. Well done!

great patchwork effect. the summer haze creates an interesting effect on the land too.

Hello,
Très simple mais très efficace ! La répétition des petits carrés interrompue par la rivière qui serpente.
J'aime beaucoup !!
Bien vu

Hi Simon - I think you'r being modest here when you say nothing fancy, the field patterns are etraordinary, probably the reason it has not attracted more attention is that the thumbnail does not look very promising.

so that's how New Zeland looks like, Simon? :) it's difficult to shot good and sharp image from a plane, but your is a nice one. perhaps it would be possible to add some contrast or sharpness in Photoshop? but I like it, cheers
