Photographer’s Note

We spent three days trekking in the Tongariro National Park in New Zealand. Most people only trek one day which is knows as the “Tongariro Crossing”, which is the best part of the trek, but we found out that the it’s worth spending three days, to see more of this lunar landscape. We can see the foot path on the picture; it is along the ridge, quite steep.

Paysage lunaire est un bon terme, Pascal. J'aime bien les différents tons de couleurs que l'on peut retrouver dans cette montagne-dune Pascal.

Bonjour Pascal,
Un pays que je ne connais pas mais où je rêve d'aller! Superbe image, très nette et bien contrastée. Les couleurs sont magnifiques! J'aime bien les petits "points" que l'on aperçoit sur le sentier et sur le premier sommet... c'est celui là le Tongariro, ou bien le grand qui se trouve derrière?

the rust colouring here in the caldera is most pleasing against the dry browns of the rest of the picture
