[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The is the Building of the Feilding Steam and Traction Engine Society. The engine you see in the door has a very colourful past.

It was made in England in 1907 and shipped to New Zealand Where its first job was to haul timber to be milled and shipped back to England where it was used to do the interior wood work on the Titanic.

The steam engine has had a better life and is still in working order.

No levels were altered only a frame added and resized for TE.

Oh - an very fine and old tractor indeed - too bad you couldn't get it in the open - but never mind this one works well and give us the feeling of being close to the beauty - thanks Sue for sharing.

Hi Sue,
A well composed scene, rendered in the portrait format for maximum impact. The definition and contrast are very good. A pity about the blue car, but it actually isn't that distracting and does add additional colour. You have really captured the essence here of the steam engine and I like the lighting on the tires. A thoughtful, well conceived and executed shot, Sue.
John

Hi Sue, this is pretty cool. photographically the image is sharp with a great focal point and perspective. However the image also tells a story...from looking at it, you can hear the shunting of the engine and the soot on the roof gutter is evidence that it works.

Initially I didn't think much of the blue 4x4, but after reading the critiuques, I think that the image would have more impact without it especailly with the windmill above the shed...it would be all old-world...very nice. I'd also like to see the image without the border and signature.

Love your work

Hi Sue,
This is a view with a good vertical framing and technically well shot but I think you could maximize its potential by removing the blue car it two stages: crop till the rear bump limit, then ise the clone tool to rebuild portions of the door over the remaining hatch part. An additional benefit of ot would be to off center the old tractor.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves
