Train to Taranaki
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Mt Taranaki (also known as Mt Egmont, 2518 m ASL), NZ wettest place. They recieve 10.5m of rain per year!! The locals have a saying, "if you can see the mountain it is going to rain, if you cant see the mountain, it is rainning".
Stopped to take a photo of the mountain and train was coming past so tried to get it in the shot. I wasnt quick enough to get the focus how i wanted, but it is good enough. Please workshop. Not sure if i like the border i wacked on. |

Hi Mike, I don't think the focus is too bad at all. Taranaki looks great, especially against the blue sky.
And you show a dairy herd too - well done. And to manage to shoot the train as well, good job! Not many areas in NZ have trains at all now.
The frame - it makes me think that there is a bridge or wall on the left that you've photographed it, IMO I would have left it out. But interesting shot, well done.
I like this shot, and agree with Jancie - the focus doesn't seem to be that bad. Maybe if you were trying to blow it up, it would show, but at this size it looks just fine :)
I, too, would get rid of the frame - it's a bit distracting on the left hand side.
From a workshop point of view - try giving it a soft-focus glow-type effect, looks really nice ;)
Another wonderful shot from you. There's so much in it. You really had luck with the weather. I'm not so thrilled abot the frame. It kind of emphasizes the fact that you could have included more of the engine, and maybe cropped a little from the right instead. That way the positioning of the mountain would not be so central either.
