I have just come back from New Zealand with the photo of the same bird. It's Kea, mountain parrot and it likes tourists 8-)
I would made few comments on you shot. First, too much of the background and too much of the boulder on the foreground.
The bird itself is a bit dark and not sharp enough. Finally, I'd tried to wait until it turned its head so it would be easier to see what kind of bird it is.
Now the shot is good for its sentimental value, but it doen't stick in memory.
