This was a picture taken at Cape Foulwind near Westport, on the North East coast of New Zealand's South Island.
Obviously a windy day, and the sea you are looking at is the Tasman Sea dividing New Zealand and Australia.
Abel Tasman discovered and named many places around New Zealand; in fact this place was originally named "Rocky Cape" until James Cook came along in 1770 and encountered a storm. |

Hey Dan!
An awesome photo you have here. I really like the faded effect the picture has. The mist rising above the wave, and the calmness of the sea behind it. The sharp rocks infront of the wave, that you know will crash into it. The crop is great.
