Photographer's Note

The historic steam engine 'Gabriel' chugs down the main street of the Northland town of Kawakawa. Once hauling goods down this line to the port of Opua in the Bay of Islands, this historic engine now just travels along 5 or 6 kilometres of track from the railway station in the town. Kawakawa is famous as being the site of the Hundertwasser designed public toilet which I have featured on an earlier posting.
