New Zealand's Huka Falls is the Maori word for 'foam'. Created by the Waikato River where it narrows from 100 meters wide to 15 as it crosses a hard volcanic ledge.
The Huka Falls are the most visited and photographed natural attraction in New Zealand. A jet boat takes tourists up river to the Falls. Or drive there. Many fine strolls and bike trails parallel the Waikato River.

That little tree in bottom left is such an important part of this photo, to show the scale and sheer enormity of this falls! Looking at how the water gushes out from the precipice give an idea as to the pressure behind the water. It reminds me one of those scenes from a film when a dam busts and a solid wall of water envelops everything. Very nice natural shot, full of power.
thanks as always

Hello Ray, Not high this waterfall but what a huge amount of water there flows. I can imagine the roaring of it and the mist in the air. Wonderful emerald colour. Splendid presentation.

Wow! This is one huge waterfalls! The sound must be deafening. It is always this strong? Good pov at least you didn't float away with the current. Good details. Well done, tfs.

Nice capture....Just been to the Trummelbach Falls in Switzerland, and wondered if the Huka Falls are more powerful than Trummelbach?
