This view of Mt Madeline is from the Hollyford Track in Fiordland, in New Zealand's South Island. Mt Madeline (2536 m) is the second highest peak in the Darran Mountains, and a beautiful sight from the Hollyford Track which runs along the Hollyford Valley. The track is a multi-day hike, but I just did a one-day walk along it, which was very rewarding.

Great use of the natural frame from the trees in the foreground for this impressive and snow peaked mountain, shrouded in some clouds to add an additional interest.
Hiking in the mountains is always so rewarding as I know myself from my homeland alps.
happy new year

Hi Vincent. Spectacular scenery and a clever composition as we glimpse the mnt past these ancient trees. Lovely light, perfect exposure. The day's walk must have been unforgettable in such a place. best wishes for the coming year. Klaudio.

Very nice atmosphere picture with the fog about the valley.
You use the trees to both sides as frame, this gives a wonderful accent toward mountain in background.
High quality picture with original colours.
Excellent composition, nice captured.
Very well done, TFS.
I wish you a healthy 2014,
