The building to the right is the old DunedinLaw Courts. Government architect John Campbell designed this impressive court building about 1899. It has four court rooms, including the lavishly decorated High Court, and also houses the Law Society office and library. The statue of Justice, minus her blindfold, is recessed in the tower over the main entrance.
The building in the distance is the Dunedin Railway Station. The first official architect for New Zealand Railways, George A. Troup, won the unofficial title of "Gingerbread George" for this magnificent station built in 1904-07 in the Flemish Renaissance style. Its beauty is more than facade deep - as a look inside will show.

Very nice shot, the darkening sky adds a moody and melancholic atmosphere, good details despite the low light. The presence of hte people adds liveliness to the place. Nice square format and composition.

beautiful architecture indeed.
Thanks for sharing this less known image of New Zealand.
Somehow people are so fascinated with the beautiful nature over there that they don't post anything from the cities. Very impressive buildings plus you have caught them set against this incredible dark sky which introduces an unusual atmosphere here.
Very well done,

I noticed alot of Dunedin is in this style of architecture, particularly the churches and other government buildings. Excellent POV to demonstrate the wonderful examples of architecture in this marvellous city. Thanks for sharing and I wish you a lovely Sunday.
