You are becoming the master of clouds on TE. Hard to pick between this and the one in WS. They are both quite dramatic with light and the cloud formations. I think I would have liked the main photo cropped similar as the WS, that is without the top half. But never mind, it's very nice as it is. Regards,

It look like Dutch clouds. But hey, New-Zealand is named after the Dutch province Zeeland, so it could be ;-)
A fine impressive image with spectacular cloud formations with great depth. Framing is exactly how i would make it...perfect low horizon and all clouds on top...wonderful.

Hello Renier,

I think this shot is beauty! The very low horizon emphasizes the massive size of the cloud formations and sky. New Zealand is renowned for its cloud cover, so they can make some sensational shapes and patterns. I visited so many lakes in NZ, so I can not specifically recall visiting Ohau, what town is it closest to? I think that perhaps a little more sharpness in the lower section would boost the appeal a bit. I think I will try a workshop to see how I would interpret the photo. It is a good one, thanks for posting :)

Magnificent cloud patterns captured in this lovely mountain landscape. The bit of rich snow light around the mountain top the beautiful glimps of blue sky contrast beautifully with your intricate clouds. A beautiful mysterious moment seen here.

Hello Renier,
It's a nice panorama covered by impressive clouds. I agree that the clouds are nice. however, I'll go against the crowd here and tell that you went a bit too far on that one. The landscape is a panoramic one and so, think it calls for a horizontal picture. So, I think there is too much cloud in the original version. I would have cropped exactly the way you cropped the workshop. My opinion is that it gives more power either to the clouds AND to the landscape...In the original post, the clouds are lost in the space somehow...

Hello Renier. Another cloud picture, - a sky landscape. I think, clouds am always interesting for the viewer. Either one discovers faces or fable animals, or one is simply impressed of the Dramatik of the clouds. You caught this cloud formation as well as the landscape at the lower contour very well. Hi Renier. Those big spectacular clouds of yours certainly add a lot of drama to this scene. The polarized(?) sky gives the clouds a little more definition also. Well captured and thanks for sharing.

Hi Renier,
Such a sky would scare the chief of the village of Asterix to the death. :-) It's so gorgeously dramatic!... If I see it right, this one should be classified also as a 'decisive moment' - a minute before and the sun would still lit the all mountain of the BG; a minute later and all of it will be in the shadow. Having only half of it under the sun makes the photo very special, although that amazing sky is enough for making the photo stunning.

Renier,
tis images with imense clouds and only a small strip of landscape in the very bottom are always a real attraction for my eyes. What makes this here even better is the sunlight only on the top of the mountains.

The clouds are wonderful with the play of sunlight on them. We can see at least two different types of cloud formations here and the highlight on the hill tops, which stand out more clearly. Good work with the low horizon to emphasize on the clouds. Well done!
