Photographer's Note

The Lindis Pass in the South Island of New Zealand connects Cromwell in Central Otago with Omarama in North Otago and is the main inland road between the two regions.

The landscape is dominated by dry tussock grassland, fortunately too hilly for the irrigators to move in and convert into yet more dairy country.
