[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
To get from the west coast of the south island of New Zealand back across to the Otago region you travel along the Haast valley and over the Haast Pass. At the time of year when we made the trip the mountains still had plenty of snow on top.
This photo was scanned from a negative and it still has a little speckle in the sky but attempts to remove it were disastrous so I've I've left the scan largely untouched.

Not too bad for a scanned image Ian. You show the raw-ness of the South Island. I've not been in this area, but I have been down the Sth Is quite a few times.
You show us the river well - and the shingle. Nicely composed too
