Photographer’s Note
Scan of a shot taken during a walk thru the middle section of the Franz Josef Glacier. In this section the glacier is subject to high pressures as it passes thru a relatively narrow area between two hills, so it becomes a fantastic place full of crevasses, gorges and tunnels.

Bonsoir Daniel
la glace est impressionnante et le point de vue donne une belle profondeur à la photo. J'aime beaucoup les couleurs;

Hi Daniel,
Really like the textures and the balance between light and shadows you've spotted here. This crevasse just totally engulfs the two people inside, while I like how we get some color in the pants of the third person still in the sunlight and about to step in and join the more silhouetted duo.

Hi Daniel,
The photo preserves a good quality in spite of being scanned. I like the strong contrast and the good control of the exposure in this type of photos, always difficult for the changeable luminosity in the zones with the ice, which bluish tones contrast with the blue of the sky and the dark silhouette of the mountain.
The people walking along this crevasse of the glacier adds a good dynamism to the composition.
Good work.
Best regards,
Josep

Hi Daniel, although I liked the previous picture of this place better, i believe this one is very interesting because of the different blue tones and due to the fact that people are included as silhouetts. Regards, Yvonne

Hi Daniel,
Excellent view of this glacier. It's very good you included the persons, so that they add scale. This place really looks impressive. There is a nice play of light and shadow on the blueish snow and ice too. Thanks for sharing!
Regards,
Lars

Hello Daniel
We had a similar experience on Fox Glacier, and I know how hard it can be to get a reasonable exposure and maintain that beautiful blue out on the ice!
A great result - well done and thanks for sharing it.
