Photographer's Note
As the old saying goes, there is no free lunch in this world. It applies to this Coal Creek Waterfalls as well.
From Greymouth follow SH6 to Runanga, turn right down Seddon Street and right into Ballance Street. There is a carpark at the end of Ballance Street.
Department of conservation of NZ states that its a one hour 3.6km return walk. But i am too anxious for that, i finished in 40mins, including 10mins photo taking.
The path along this lovely bush walk gently descends down to the Coal Creek valley though a mixed beech-podocarp forest.
For the water lovers, the pool below the falls is a nice place to cool off with a swim in the hot summer months. However, take particular care to look out for underwater rocks and logs before jumping in.

Hi Ralf,,
A shot woth working for, it looks beautiful and peaceful. Even when I first seen this, before reading your note, I thought how nice it would be to jump in there! The green is very lush and rich, and the water looks like silk. Really nicely done.
All the best
Noel

Emilius
