Photographer’s Note

Hi all. This is the first of my South Island photos from our recent “overseas” trip. [We did cross one body of water to get there ;-) ]
This was taken from the top of the Lake Ruataniwha dam and shows the how the area has been planted out to beautify it after the dam was built.
As you can see autumn was in full force when we visited and I’m sure the colours are more vivid than we get up here in the North Island. I expect it has something to do with our milder climate, warmer winters and cooler summers.
