Photographer’s Note
On the road from Wanaka, out to the Mt Aspiring National Park and just past Glendhu Bay, there is a tarn called Diamond Lake, just a short distance from the road. It had poured with rain overnight (not much sleep inside my campervan!), but I was up early anyway, in the hope I might catch a glimpse of the mountains: it was not to be, so I took the walk to Diamond Lake. This shot is looking back into the valley, dotted with sheep and cattle enjoying the lush spring grasses - on the far side of the valley, you may just be able to make out some of the many waterfalls that cascade down the mountain sides after every downpour.
As always, shot in RAW format, cropped and resized for TE.

Hi Jeff,
Isn't that where Eddie Albert and Eva Gabor set up shop. Good POV and composition although the flat light isn't doing you any favours. Not too sure about all the dead ferns in the foreground, looks like the road crew has just been through with the Round-up.
Beautiful colours down by the creek, the trees look almost luminescent, good looking country for sheep and cattle. I haven't been to NZ since 1971, don't think much has changed (tongue firmly in cheek) and they still have the Bledisloe Cup, bugger.
cheers
Pete

Hi Jeff,
Amazing picture, you've captured the various colours and textures of the scrub bushes in the foreground very well. These are well off-set by the softer greens of the trees in the valley.
Well done.

Wanaka is a beautiful part of NZ Jeff and you've done a good job of capturing the colour and the scenery. - maybe a little of the brown bracken at the bottom could have been cropped out.
Regards
Ian
