Photographer’s Note

I've decided to post a humoristic picture I found in my archives.

Along the M6, near the city of Wanaka, one can see this unexpected collection of bras, knickers and other stuff hanging on a 500m long fence.

Apparently, in passing women are highly encouraged to take part in the collection by adding a piece of underwear. Bras seem to be the most popular.

I don't know if this collection has started by accident or if it's the calculated work of a maniac ;-)
If someone knows, an answer would be more than appreciated.

Nothing technical in this shot, I just want to show you this funny spot.

Following my post, I made some research and apparently, this spot is (unfortunately was...) more famous than I thought. See here in Wikipedia.

A very amusing story - the joke has to be on the local government for removing such an important tourist attraction and local profile raiser - you've done well to show the context - even traffic - and some detail as well as the size of the 'problem' - in India you have bra-mins, in Africa/America you have bra-rabbit, in south america you even have bra-zil......what the fuss is about bra-fence in NZ is beyond me mate!

Well, if it was somewhere near German or Austrian border, I would say there's a really big and prosperous brothel near the road whose owner cares about the publicity. In New Zealand it's an example of original humour. The photo itself is OK.

Il y a vraiment des trucs incroyables dans le monde ! Pourquoi là ? Pourquoi ça ??? C'est vraiment marrant ! Merci de nous faire partager ça !!!
