Photographer’s Note

A moody afternoon on Lake Wanaka, in the South Island of New Zealand. Taken from the northern edge of the town of Wanaka, looking up to the snow covered Southern Alps and the Matukituki Valley. There are many good vantage points around town and along the lake shore.

Wanaka is the gateway to the Mount Aspiring area, and is a lovely little town to spend time in.

Scanned from a slide. Levels adjusted to increase the contrast slightly. Cropped some sky from the photo. There is some graininess in places, probably from the long exposure, but I'm not concerned by it.
