Photographer's Note

Another intrusive shot from me taken at a pub where we stopped for dinner. In the far corner I observed these friends having a drink, exchanging jokes and a laugh or two. The old wood textures on the wall, the lovely light and the warm golden glow made me attempt this difficult shot with no tripod and a very slow shutter speed.Even though the image is a little blurred, I love the effect created by the light upon the seasoned wood, the shiny metal and the different coloured tops the men are wearing.

Many pubs and cafes in N.Z. have very imaginative decor, many using recycled materials from old buildings. This pub had old doors plus frames saved from derelict buildings, not for use, but hanging by steel cables FROM THE CEILING!

This is my companion piece to my previous photo Thinking of Caravaggio as both have that special light in which both artists excelled.
