Lake Wakitipu & the Queenstown Botanical Gardens, in full Autumn colors.
I'd be interested if the color balance now looks right: blue / magenta or yellow / green?

4 bonnes raisons d'applaudir ton image Chris!

hi chris, very nice piece of nature, and i find the colours being all right now;
quite an old picture and an early technique of having a bank of the watre right in the middle of the image; now you would compose slightly differently, wouldn't you?
have a nice day, jerzy

Ce paysage aurait pu être canadien. C'est assez étonnant. Belle répartition des masses de couleurs et d'ombre.

Great sharpness, and your photo breaths a sort of serenity. I like the difference between those dark clouds on the left and the welcoming brightness on the right. Nice work!
All the best,

To me the color balance is right and given the age the scan quality is outstanding here, I love the light falling onto the 1st level trees and helping her stand out by contrast with the darker background mountains.
Have a nice day,

Lovely line of the jagged mountaintops against the sky. Very nice light, and I like the way the composition is layered. A calm and lovely shot, Chris.

Bravo pour avoir réussi un grand travail avec ton scan sur une photo vieille de 24 ans ! Une large vue sur un beau panarama décor de film. Les niveaux ressortent bien, donnant de la profondeur.
C'est de l'excellent job Chris. Bravo encore!

Hi Chris, I would expect a botanical garden is a small show case garden. It is nice to see the open view with a lake. I think you have done a good job in the color balance and the dividing of the contents. A well taken picture.

Very nice composition.
Pleasant autumn colours.
Splendid background through the silhouettes of the moutains.
The small sailboat a lovely detail.
Very well done!

Hi Chris. A quite simple but nonetheless delightful photo of this lovely scenery, good layered presentation of the various natural elements. Impressive quality you pulled from scanning the 20+ year old print. Color balance looks about right to me.

There are realy a lot of travels in your Portfolio and I like it very much.
This is a nice NZ landscape, full of a good light and colors (balance of colors looks good).
The different levels from the sea to the sky in the picture are excellent.
I like it

Hi Chris, another great oldie. It looks more yellow/green to me but my monitor stinks and can't be trusted! There is a tiny bit of noise in the scan but everything else flawless. Good one Chris!

Very nice photo Chris for 1981, good contrast, colors and light are soft, well seen.

Very nice scenery here. The colourbalance is good, the blue and green tones match each other very well, but the trees are a bit undetailed, but I see the photo is very old, so I understand it is not easy when you have to scan it/or take a photo of it.

The color balanced in a best way,the natural colors as layers are excellent here, good depth and details and the boat (blue) is an extra lively element, too.

HI Chris, it must be totally different now, 25 years later. I think the colours look fine, is it a repost? Looking at your thumbnails on your site this one looked one of the best, imo. Very natural, TFS

Colour balance is reasonable for a photo of its age. The QTown foreshore has changed remarkably (no pun intended) little in the past 2.7 decades. Sharpness is a little soft, but I don't care that much to be honest. The darker left contrasts well with the lighter right. Interesting to hear that the water temperature stays consistent here all year around, at about 11-2C because of the depth and continual snow melt feed. I look forward to going back to this really attractive city.

The reflections in the water are assets to the composition. The presence of the sailboat has an effect of scale. The point of view takes our eyes from the sea level, to the forest, to the mountaisn and to the sky which is giving depth to the composition. The luminosity is enhancing the different tints of colors of the scenery. Have a nice day.
