Queenstown Botanical Gardens Photo

Photographer’s Note

Located within easy walking distance of downtown Queenstown is the botanical gardens. It was such a beautiful place, very peaceful, very green and the morning we strolled around there it was very wet.

The gardens are situated on a small parcel of land that juts out and is surrounded on 3 sides by Lake Wakatipu, there are walking tracks throughout and around the waters edge.

They also have an ice skating rink here, plenty of parking and some lovely area's to sit and enjoy the beautiful flowers or do a little people watching.

In the middle of the gardens is this lovely lake with a quaint stone bridge to cross over the water and for the ducks to swim under.

Back to water level at last, I saw this on your other site and wondered when we'd see it.
Very nicely composed, the stone bridge surrounded by all that greenery is very pretty.

Hello Jude,

I was not aware they had a botonical garden, did not even look for it also. But the old bridge looks wonderful, maybe also enhanced by your vertical composition with all the greeny around it.
I have to admit that from the start when you uploaded your photo's become better and better, maybe also because of the bad weather you were shwoing in the beginning of this trip. But more important, i see a big step forward in the overal quality. Look at your latest shots (okay there was good weather), the colours and compositions are very good.
I wonder how many good ones you have, how long can you post? I'm always in doubt about my own pictures and the quality i have, i wonder how you think about that when seeing your own work.

Hi Jude. Not looking at panoramic vistas here, but at a more intimate setting. Wonderful variety of the colour green.Pity that a lady in red wasn't crossing the little bridge, but this way the mood is more peaceful and poetic. Nice format. Regards. Klaudio.

Hi Jude,

The choice of vantage point has created a natural diagonal of the shoreline, and that in turn leads the eye right to the arch. This is a masterful composition. The colors and resolution are all first rate.
