Photographer's Note
Baldwin Street is recognized by the Guinness Book of Records as the steepest street in the world. The street runs up the northern side of Signal Hill, a prominent hill overlooking Otago Harbour, at slopes of up to 1:2.86 (for 2.86m horizontal distance, a rise of 1m).

Hi Eric,
An excellent point of view, and a colourful subject for the photo. It could be a bit sharper, and it would have more impact if it was bigger (it can be up to 800 pixels wide). Not a good street for cyclists - hard work going uphill and suicidal going down!
Regards,
Vince

Eric - you know a street is steep when the sidewalk becomes stairs. I can think of a couple of similar streets in San Francisco that might be in the top ten. The effect of this shot, perpendicular to the street, is great in accentuating the angle, and the fence's tilt is especially pronounced with the perfect horizontal lines of the house itself.
