Photographer’s Note
Waikoropupu or pupu srings is located near Nelson and boasts the crystal clearest water in the southern hemesphere.
Used for gold prospering in the old days it's forest was left to grow and paths where laid to walk around.
You can see the water spring from the bottom in the main springs which when i was there you could still dive around or swim but at 11c not many people do. it is also recognized as a spiritual place by the maori
This picture was taken just before reaching the main spring and looks deceptively shallow, it is 5m deep at this point!!
