Photographer’s Note
The Kea (Nestor notabilis) is a semi-nocturnal parrot native to the alpine mountains of New Zealand. The Kea is the only known parrot in the world to live in the alpine regions. The Kea is also known as the clown of the mountains, because of its playful nature and reputation for tearing the rubber sealing from cars, presumably for fun...

I've heard of the fellows...
Quite funny picture indeed. I like the contrasts here: modern car and nature, rainforest and snow, active parrot and another waiting its turn. I'd have liked to see a little less of the car and a little more of the forest.

Oh - I heard about this special parrots og New Zealand and seen them on TV as well - Thanks Dragos, for this fine view - the snowy background gives a fine atmosphere - could it be these birds are tame by nature?

Hey Tom,
Cool picture. I have one that is about the same, but with our car a kea tried to kill the windscreen spray-thingy at the back;)
I have heard they have the intelligence of a four year old. Pretty impressive.

Well captured. It reminds me of my rainy NZ experience. Those Kea also like to steal hiker's shoes. TFS this closeup shot.
