Photographer’s Note
Our cruise ship took 2 days to cross the Tasman Sea from Tasmania, Australia. We arrived Milford Sound at 6 am. Those of us willing to get up at this wee hour had our bleary eyes rewarded with this fleeting moment of sunrise over the hills. That fleeting moment, however, was worth every minute of sleep deprivation to witness.
I deliberately included the ship's deck to convey my own experience and to give a sense of scale to the towering cliffs around us.

The more I see of this spectacular place, the more impressed I am. This one is no less impressive, with the beautiful sunrise providing great colours. You did well with the exposure in the early morning conditions. I would have been tempted to crop out the onlookers, but it does put you in the scene more showing how you viewed this lovely landscape.
